Executive Director Report

A contract has been signed with the American Hotel in Downtown Atlanta for this year’s DSC show. We will have a room block available for members and guests of the Guild to book with us, and we will have both our annual member meeting and fundraising banquet at the American.

Treasurer Report

James Tucker, Treasurer, is working on finding a bank that will have better interest rates for the Guild’s accounts, and it should be done in the next two weeks or so.

As voted on last year by the Board, we will be looking for a bookkeeper to help our part time treasurer.

Old Business

The Board had discussed a set of rule codes for the upcoming Guild show for a more professional, uniform display, such as logoed table covers and a simple dress code of “business casual.” Jeff Tapp made a motion to adopt the rules, James Tucker seconded. With no further discussion, the Board voted unanimously to pass.

New Business

The Foundation hired and paid Amanda (previous Executive Director) and/or her husband to build a web-site. The Foundation was not given access to the web-site when Amanda resigned. The Foundation has sent her a certified letter asking her to turn over the rights and access to the old website. No further action was taken.

The Gun Digest 2026 with the Guild’s article was published and will be available for purchase in August. We will need to look ahead to next year’s article soon. No further action was taken.

There was a discussion about having someone train under Dave Norin to be the next magazine editor. Board members discussed creating an Associate Editor position, and seeking out a member who may be fit for the job. No further action was taken.

Glenn brought up Matthew Horninger’s work in photography at the DSC show. Last year we paid his way to the show as his service was something that our members could utilize as a way to promote their work. He proposed that this might be something we should repeat.

Daniel Batchelor made  a motion to pay for Matthew to attend the show (room, entry, travel, etc.)  Jeff  Tapp seconds. The Board voted unanimously to approve.

Meeting adjourned at 8:14
