Don't know whether or not they are period correct for the model, but I love the blues.

For the most part, I see the process as being largely the same for any makers that used charcoal and a crucible, and it remains largely the same now. I know some get what looks more like chemical coloring, or torch coloring, but charcoal is largely charcoal. Variability of casting metallurgy, temp ramp up and down, dwell time, quench temp, distilled, rain, or tap water, etc. all seem to have had enough impact for folks that they focus on the particular variable that they feel made the difference for their outcomes.

Period or not, I like dark colors, blue, purple, and straw, and less so vibrant colors.
