We are thrilled to announce an extraordinary and generous donation to our organization, the opportunity to participate in the renowned MacNab Challenge and Grouse Grand Slam in Scotland. This incredible adventure has been provided to us for auction at our upcoming annual banquet, taking place during the DSC show on January 14th 2024.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers of this event, Liz, Sean, and the entire team at Delaney & Sons, for their exceptional generosity and commitment to conservation and the sporting tradition. This unique opportunity to partake in the MacNab Challenge, a true Scottish fieldsports tradition, represents the epitome of challenge, camaraderie, and adventure.
We are truly grateful for their support in providing this once-in-a-lifetime experience, which not only promises unforgettable memories for the successful bidder but also contributes immensely to our organization’s valuable fundraising efforts.
We encourage all of our members and supporters to join us at the annual banquet and participate in the lively bidding for this prestigious adventure. Your enthusiastic participation and contributions make a substantial impact on our organization’s success and allow us to continue our mission.
This is an invitation to take part in a uniquely Scottish fieldsports tradition. It is seen by many as the ultimate challenge. The stars have to align in order to achieve one of the most prestigious accomplishments in the sporting field.
The MacNab Challenge
The challenge is simple, but very tall; land a salmon on the fly, put a brace of red grouse in the bag, and take a red stag off the hill… all between dawn and dusk on the same day. Success requires planning, perseverance, fitness, skill, and a healthy dose of luck. And one needs a team of ghillies, keepers, and stalkers working in unison to have a sporting chance. It is truly unique blend of camaraderie, collaboration, and solitude. There is no guarantee of success, but there is definitely a guarantee of challenge and adventure.
The Grouse Grand Slam
We also have a very unique opportunity to pursue three distinct species of Grouse, the Scottish Red Grouse, The Black Grouse and Ptarmigan. This will all be done as walked-up shooting over dogs.
The Location
The 2024 MacNab challenge and grouse grand slam will be based out of Invermark Lodge, a classic Victorian shooting lodge on the Dalhousie estate in County Agnus, a 55,000 acre sporting paradise. Invermark has a network of rivers, streams, moors and mountains overseen and managed by a dedicated group of conservation minded professionals. Located two hours from Edinburgh.
