I'm fitting a banded front sight using the peening method but a gap has opened up under the ramp.  How can I get rid of the gap?

Thanks

Ray, right or wrong, this is what I would do. I would take a gage pin the same size as the barrel. Remove the sight and place the gage pin in the ID of the sight. With a V block and vise, I would rest the top of the sight on one jaw of the vise, the radius of the bottom of the sight in the V block, the gage pin will prevent damage to the ID of the sight. I would heat up the sight right at the top of the band and put a few degrees of downward movement. Once cooled, it should fit snug on the barrel. Again, right or wrong, this is how I would handle this. Best of luck.
