Now that you've got your action parts nicely French greyed, how do you protect it?  A clear lacquer or finish of some sort?  How is sit applied?  Airbrush?

Thanks

After years of hard work, I perfected my technique for treating Frech gray.  I don't do anything.  The finish seems at least as rust resistant a rust blue and I care for it in the same way.

For added protection I add 3 or 4 very light applications of Renaissance Wax.  If there is engraving involved, I add lamp black to the first application to bring out the engraving.

Thanks very much Glenn & Sam,  My work piece is a new Fraser action which has been beautifully engraved by Lee Griffiths.  His work is stunning and I want to properly finish it.  Roger

You might ask Lee what he recommends as well.
